They try manipulate people by telling half-truths or by owrdings things in such a way that it makes the other person look bad, when it's not like that at all. One example is how McCain had an ad that said Obama supported sex education for kids in kindergarten. In reality, he supported teaching kindergarteners about inappropriate touching and telling an adult if it happens. That REALLY makes me mad.

I don't want my neighbor running the country. It's a huge job. Yes, ideally, they would keep tabs on and be able to understand issues facing the middle class, but that's close to impossible, I think. The reality of politics is that you have to wheel and deal and understand the ins and outs and do thinks you might not be proud of for "the greater good". Regardless, I do not think either candidate will ever make big changes. Just because of the nature of politics. They might really want to, but there are too many obstacles in the way. Just look at Clinton and how he tried to get health care for every American.

Palin is truthfully painful to watch when left to 'be herself' ....the coaching did wonders for her at the debate...because I found myself actually rubbing my chin and saying "woww...she ain't so bad to listen to after all" but what does that prove?? not that she 'has it' but that she can be told what to say..and act well enough to make you believe the crap she sugar-coats... i also believe that not only average Joe's are in touch w/ the middle class...you can hold a position of high power and still be able and willing to reach down....

I actually totally agree. I think she's marketing herself very well, despite her poor media skills. But, IMO, that is a skill that can be learned. I don't think she's stupid or unable to handle the job. I think she is just unused to dealing with the media, which is like 80% of the campaign/presidency, lol. Unfortunately for her. I don't think it matters at all who is president. Everyone promises something and delivers nothing. There are very few presidents who make lasting changes and memorable changes or significant contributions to American or international history. The rest of them skate on by and try not to get assassinated. If you all want socialized health care and affordable taxes and decent foreign policies, move elsewhere.
