It just seems to me like your opinion is a double standard - if Here I Stand was Jen's album, your opinion would be different. JEN should have released a second single, made a better video, etc etc etc...whereas you said yourself Usher album basically flopped despite his #1 status, even though he promoted everywhere. I get that you/we want her to be successful of course, but it just seems to me like Jen can't really win with you when it comes to her albums/videos/singles. Just the vibe I get, I'm not trying to start a fight...or am I? lol

The release of Brave and its singles/promotional planning would have been done months in advance before we ever knew anything about it. Jen probably got pregnant after things had been set in motion for its release - delaying it when they felt the album was solid, and if Jen's pregnancy was safe and she was into it, wouldn't have even happened. There's always going to be a reason NOT to do something - if she waited until now for Brave, she'd have 2 movies coming up and 6 month old babies to contend with as well, which would also slow down promotion and videos.

If Here I Stand was Jen's album and she did the same promo like Usher did I'd be very happy about it. Like I said with this amount of promo this was really all that was in for the record. And Usher released a 2nd single, Moving Mountains, and is planning to release a 3rd single, What's Your Name. So yeah I'd be happy if Jen did the same for Brave, since they basicly released only one single. Can't really call Here I Stand a flop album btw cuz it hit the #1 spot and did ok. Ofcourse its nothing compared to Confessions, but every 'superstar' artist usually has a huge hit album and not all their albums can be that successfull.
And Jen can win for me, I just think since Rebirth they couldve done more/better promo and picked wrong (2nd) singles choices. Hold You Down is the weakest track on Rebirth imo and I think songs like SIMW, WYWD and CP had potential to become hits. But have to admit Get Right is still the shit to me, she looks crazy good in the Hip Hop mix video and still cant get over the dance routine. Her promo for CAUM was ok imo, although I think they shouldve focused a lil more on the Latin community. Qué Hiciste was a good single choice, good video so all good. But they let CAUM die after it. Release two more videos but she did no promo for the songs at all. I dont get why, since Jen kept saying this was her passion project. So you, atleast I, would expect a lil more from it promo/performing wise.
The Brave thing: Do It Well wasnt a bad single choice. But the video completely ruined it for me, and imo it killed to song. So no, Im not pleased with this at all. Yeah I'm a Jennifer Lopez fan but that doesnt mean I support every single thing she does and that I have to like everything she releases. Been a while I saw such a shitty video, from an A list artist like Jen. A video can make or break a song imo, and it surely did the song no good. MITS wouldve been a better 1st single choice imo, but ok opinions and tastes can very. I just think it wouldve made a great 1st single cuz its a fresh sound from Jen and it would be something new. I think the song represents the album better than DIW. And there are some other songs on the album which have the potential to become a hit, like Forever, Brave, ST and WWYG. But not releasing a 2nd single is just crazy to me. I seriously dont get that. If u come up with only one single from an album just dont release it! imo an artist and recordcompany must be willing to promote a single to make the album a success also. when there's no money/time to shoot videos and perform why would u release an album?! Recordcompany should be willing to support an album and give it a second chance when the first single didnt worked out like they expected/hoped.
I think I didnt had big expectations from Jen with Brave. Still big big big props to her for doing the tour while pregnant, especially in the week of Brave's release since she did a couple promo appereances/performances that week (but like only that week) and was live on stage in the evening for the tour. But I think its not a weird thing to expect a 2nd single release, cuz like all artist, especially on Jen's level, get like 3 singles from each album. I just hate that they throw an album, which kinda had decent reviews, after just one single. There are potential hit songs on the album and with a fresh/hot/original video and like 2 smart promo performances it could do the record nothing but good. I'm just sad cuz of that cuz I know Jen has still got it and can still be a very succesfull singer.

bout the Brave planning thing: you've got a point. although albums get delayed all the time, even a few weeks for its originally planned release date. so I dont see why that wouldnt be an option for Jen's Brave.
