awesome article...thanks Deb!
''She's like my wife,'' Anthony says, wiping his forehead of sweat, ''only
we don't get to have any fun.''
''In the carnal sense of the word,'' she explains. Her ensuing giggle does nothing to clarify the rumors of their romance.
Glad you all enjoyed reading that NYT piece on Marc: got to luv him!..
And oh, (tsk..tsk..) what a flirt Jen was!
Heather ^ , if you mean the same article in "Vea" :
I think its author was referring to the year before (1998), when Dayanara arranged to meet Marc, and really came on to him. . The writer of the article
indicated knowing first hand, that Marc and Jenn were still together at the time, + that Jenny, also his date for the event, was v. upset . It
seems Dayanara had her own agenda .. some said because of running up heavy debts, she was determined to snap up a wealthy guy to wed. Reportedly Marc was
flattered by Dayanara's charm and attention + he played along. Some say he did that to provoke Jenn, who acted quite independent at that time (she had just
divorced Ojani, and it was Marc vs. Puffy back then.).
Anyone see this picture? - Jenn's ready for a kiss - They're adorable! !

CONCERT PREVIEW | Anthony in perfect harmony with tour mate Fernandez
August 19, 2008
BY LAURA EMERICK lemerick@suntimes.com
For Latin superstar Marc Anthony, it has been a year of firsts. He made his first movie, "El
Cantante," with wife Jennifer Lopez. Then he completed his first-ever tour with J. Lo. And in February, they had their first children together, twins Max
and Emme.
And for the first time, he's presenting his "Juntos en Concierto" tour as a two-man show: he will perform tonight with Latin pop star Alejandro
Fernandez at Charter One Pavilion.
Back in 2005, Anthony introduced his "Juntos" format, which teams him with other Latin music megastars, as a triple bill. This tour marks his second
time around with Fernandez, son of Mexican icon Vicente. While New York City native Anthony's a salsero, Fernandez specializes in pop variations of
ranchera, bolero and other Mexican styles.
Although they come from different sides of the Latin music spectrum, they work well together onstage. "I've known Alejandro for many years. He's a
class act," Anthony said. "It's a pleasure and honor to work with him. When he's onstage, I always find myself checking him out, because
there's so much to learn from his performance. Our touring together is not a Latin thing, it's an artist thing, it's a friendship thing."
In between tour dates, they hang out together. "I've been trying to get him on the golf course for three years now," he said. "He'll
come with us, he'll hang out, but instead of picking up the clubs, he provides comic relief. We can always count on him for a good time. But we also talk
about what life is going to be like 20 years from now."
They probably exchange vocal tips, because they possess some of the best chops in the business. "My voice is like a dear friend. I know
it well. I play with it and I respect it," Anthony said. "I'm not the kind of an artist who likes to do a lot of warming up .
It's really more old school. It's more important that I'm there emotionally to sing those songs."
Since they're so simpatico vocally and artistically, many fans hope Anthony and Fernandezwill record a full disc together someday. "I would
loveit," he said. "It's definitely come up before."
In the meantime, Anthony has three discs, including salsa and English-language pop projects, scheduled for release before year's end. "It's
shaping up to be my most musical year so far," he said. "Whether it's pop or salsa, I've discovered that it's most important to
marry the music. I absolutely have to be in love with the material."
Though he doesn't want to reveal details, he said, "You'd be surprised, especially on the English side. I'm working with masters
I've always admired." As for Latin masters, he hinted that a collaboration with Juan Gabriel , perhaps Mexico's most influential composer
of the last three decades, might be in the works. (One of Anthony's signature tunes is a salsified version of Gabriel's "Hasta Que Te
Conoci.") "I've been trying to convince [Gabriel] to go on tour together," he said. "That would be the ultimate."
Well, next to performing with Lopez, of course. Last year's bill, which stopped at the United Center, marked the first time that Lopez had ever performed
live on the road. "I'm so proud of her, she did it," he said. "It was such a big tour, and she pulled it all off --and while being
pregnant! She always manages to up the ante, performance-wise. She's a true phenomenon."
The same goes for Anthony, 39, who started out on the club scene in the late '80s and became a global sensation with his self-titled English-language
crossover disc in 1999. "It's so funny -- no matter I much I feel am doing, it's nothing compared to Jennifer. She's got her music, her
movies, her production duties, and now she's training for a triathlon. Plus, being the mother of new twins! Whenever I say I'm tired, I have to laugh
because I'll never win that argument."
One stop on his tour represents a sentimental homecoming; he will perform Sept. 28 during the final game at Shea Stadium, which will be demolished
after this season. "I'm a diehard Mets fan and a huge baseball fan in general." I once hosted a 'This Week in Baseball' segment,
from the All-Star Game, and I got to speak with Sammy Sosa, the year he was on fire. That was one of my all-time thrills."
Even though Yankee Stadium also will be shuttered this year, don't expect to see Anthony at the House That Ruth Built. "Well, I'm thinking
of doing one massive tour next year and then taking the next two or three years off. I want to concentrate on my family and acting," said
Anthony, who has three other children from earlier relationships. "I'm not saying that when I'm 69, I won't be on-stage. But touring is so
consuming, I'd like to take a break for a while."

but no couse he will take a break from it 2 or 3 years. I hope he will release some new albums during that break
He's releasing 3 albums this fall. Excluding his Greatest Hits, it's been 4 years since. I think he means take a break from music period
for that time to concentrate on the family and acting.
