The only problem Angel Eyes had was a dumb marketing team. It was a good film, very "pre-J.Lo" style if you will. However, when it's 2001, and one of the biggest stars in Hollywood is headlining a film, what do you do?
What it was:
- a somber romantic DRAMA.
- a story about two people, imperfect and struggling
- slow-paced, but not innappropriately so.
What the tried to sell
- a supernatural thriller (what? there's no supernatural aspect!?)
- Jennifer's BIG FACE on the movie poster
- action packed chase scenes (there is, count 'em, one chase scene ten minutes into the film)

exactly. i cant believe how stupid the promo was for Angel Eyes. And there wasnt much of it either. Its a shame, becuase Jens performance in it is fantastic, as is the rest of the cast and the direction. The cast is one of my faves from a Jen film actually (Jim is stunning, and Sonia Braga, Monet Mazur, Terrence Howard, etc, all do such a great job). If this was marketed right and the right audiences saw it, it could have been a much bigger hit than the 30million it brought in.
