Where are these critics getting this information?
Monster-In-Law tanked? In what country? Certainly not the U.S.
She hasn't had a decent movie since 'Shall We Dance'? ...Really? Of the 20-something films she has made 'Shall We Dance?' ranks as one of the highest?
I agree with both ends of the argument. Her romcoms are indeed her most successful financially, yet often lower in quality and most scourned by critics. Me, I'm just excited to see her back on the screen again...even though I'm a little iffy about the plot. To be frank, I could care less about cute, I want good. I'd like to see her in more of an ensemble comedy, as opposed to another typical romcom. Don't get me wrong, I'm mezmorized by Jennifer Lopez's on-camera presence, but if I'm going to be honest I don't think she has the strongest comedic timing. Perhaps this is a harsh statement, but I've always found her to ride off of her "cuteness" in her romantic comedies than actually being funny.
What do you guys think, honestly. Agree? Disagree?
i totaly agree with that.
But if she makes L&OIP , this and another one who is far from being a rom-com then i guess it's fine to make this one, and she was probably advised to make one since they're her most succefull films and like she said she loves that type of movies
