I do favor her dramatic roles, but her romantic comedies are really cute. Plus she just did two dramas back to back. I'm excited!! Hopefully 2 movie releases in 2009!!!!

I think this is great news. Romantic comedies are her most popular movies. Plus, it sounds cute.
It is the higher end of indie's though 'The Ilusionist' which was done by YFG took in $89million world wide total.
I think nowadays there is becoming more of a blur between say a really high end indie and a low key studio movie.

they also got a SAG weaver for the Panlo Eskobar (spl?) movie and it has a budget of $50M so i wonder what is the budget of this one .
i really hope this movie does well. And gets a promo tour. I miss Jen in the big studio films that are huge worldwide and that get the big promo tour
treatment.
Things fell pretty hard and fast for Jennifer Lopez. Not just a few years ago she was one of the biggest stars on the planet. Then came GIGLI and the
Bennifer backlash and things haven't been quite the same since. Since MONSTER-IN-LAW tanked in 2005, Lopez has only three films on her resume, not one of
which had a release of over 1,000 screens. But it looks like Lopez is making a comeback of sorts. The actress
has signed on to star in the romantic
comedy (natch) THE GOVERNESS for Yari Film Group.
Lopez will play a professional thief who disguises herself as a
nanny to ripoff a wealthy widower. Now let's see if you can guess the end of the story. GOVERNESS will be directed by Nigel Cole and
written by Kevin Wade, they of
CALENDAR GIRLS and MAID IN MANHATTAN respectively. GOVERNESS is expected to begin filming
this fall in Massachusetts. If she's looking for a comeback, how about returning to the type of movie (OUT
OF SIGHT) that made her famous in the first place? Is a generic romanticcomedy really
the best idea? Don't we have enough of those without Jennifer Lopez?
Extra Tidbit:Lopez recently signed on to star in a reality TV show for TLC.

Jennifer Lopez has signed on to star in the lead role of Nigel Cole's upcoming romantic comedy "The Governess," Variety reported earlier today.
Written by Kevin Wade and Wendy Braff, the film focuses on a professional thief who poses as a nanny to a rich widower's kids in order to pull of a
gigantic heist. She later faces a tough decision when she falls in love with the single father.
Yari Film Group will produce the project, which is expected to head into principal photography this fall.
Nigel Cole previously directed the delicious British hit comedy "Calendar Girls" and the disappointing Ashton Kutcher vehicle "A Lot Like
Love." He recently completed "Five Dollars a Day," a comedy starring Amanda Peet and Christopher Walken.
Lopez was last seen alongside husband Marc Anthony in "El Cantante." She's currently gearing up for "Love and Other Impossible
Pursuits," an indie dramedy written and directed by Don Roos.
Considering Lopez's recent filmography, it's about time she scores another hit if she desires to celebrate a comeback. The last decent flick she did
was "Shall We Dance," and that's was four long years ago.
Monster-In-Law tanked? In what country? Certainly not the U.S.
She hasn't had a decent movie since 'Shall We Dance'? ...Really? Of the 20-something films she has made 'Shall We Dance?' ranks as one of
the highest?
I agree with both ends of the argument. Her romcoms are indeed her most successful financially, yet often lower in quality and most scourned by critics. Me,
I'm just excited to see her back on the screen again...even though I'm a little iffy about the plot. To be frank, I could care less about cute, I want
good. I'd like to see her in more of an ensemble comedy, as opposed to another typical romcom. Don't get me wrong, I'm mezmorized by Jennifer
Lopez's on-camera presence, but if I'm going to be honest I don't think she has the strongest comedic timing. Perhaps this is a harsh statement,
but I've always found her to ride off of her "cuteness" in her romantic comedies than actually being funny.
What do you guys think, honestly. Agree? Disagree?
Oh and also, for whoever said Jennifer should return to films like 'Out of Sight' to make her comeback: she tried that already, and it turned out to be
'Gigli'.
