He's An Oscar Winner But Ben Affleck Admits He's Still Haunted By Embarrassing Music Video
HE is an Oscar-winning star and the proud director of a hard-hitting thriller predicted to be one of the hottest movies this summer.
But no matter how successful actor Ben Affleck is today, he knows he'll never escape from that Jenny From The Block video moment which could have killed
his career.
He confesses that rubbing sun tan lotion into his then girlfriend Jennifer Lopez's bum for a music video was a big mistake.
Ben said: "If I have a regret, it was doing the music video. But that happened years ago. I've moved on."
It was during his J-Lo period that the shine started to come off Ben's career, culminating in the 2003 dud movie Gigli and a bling engagement that made
"Bennifer" one of the most loathed couples in Hollywood.
Even Ben, 35, began to realise that their relationship was a big turn-off for audiences, but he says it would be ungallant to blame his Gigli co-star for
his career nosedive.
"It not only makes me look like a petulant fool, but it surely qualifies as ungentlemanly? For the record, did she hurt my career? No," he said.

Market America taps pop culture

GREENSBORO - Market America , which sells and distributes such diverse items as T-shirts and DNA screening kits, is ready to make a mark on pop
culture.
The Greensboro-based company is teaming up with a famous fashion star and creating a one-stop Web page offering news and information about music and
products from music stars.
By doing so, Market America wants to grow beyond its image as a cosmetics and vitamin supplements company.
In the process, it hopes to combine the draw of celebrities with Market America's product sales system, which uses a combination of the Internet and
individual sales representatives around the world.
It began Sunday , when the glamorous world of hip-hop fashion met Market America in an episode of Style Network 's "Kimora: Life in the Fab
Lane."
The reality show about fashion model and businesswoman Kimora Lee Simmons featured her appearance earlier this year at a Market America convention in
Miami to promote a line of cosmetics.
Simmons, who created the Baby Phat fashion company with former husband Russell Simmons , helped create a line of cosmetics called Fabulosity that only
Market America will sell.
"We're friends, and she's a wonderful person and she and I have a lot that we relate to on a personal level, so we wanted to work
together," said Loren Ridinger, senior vice president .
The episode, which follows Simmons' daily life, showed her backstage at a Market America convention admitting a fear of public speaking. The episode
will be rebroadcast several times during the week.
Ridinger said the products sold out quickly after her appearance, and Simmons will return to Market America in August to launch a line of bath and body
products.
To step further into the world of pop culture, Market America will soon roll out a Web site that combines exclusive artist pages plus access to a variety
of music news, charts and Web download services.
The company also hopes to offer some music exclusively at the site, which will be called MA My World.
Music artists are becoming independent marketers of their music and merchandise as the industry changes, said Steve Ashley, Market America's executive
director . Market America can make deals with these artists to find sources for licensed products and share in the profits.
"When they come to the handbags or products, that's where we come in as a product brokerage," Ashley said. "We can outsource those
different products based on their lifestyle and we can bring fans into their one site and create a fan club. You're
creating a world around (Latin singer) Alejandro Sans or Jennifer Lopez or Paul McCartney."
Ashley said the company hopes the site will grow to encompass a variety of marketing deals with celebrities, as well as links to already established sites
about sports, entertainment and other subjects.
JENNIFER LOPEZ and MARC ANTHONY's baby twins are set to visit Europe this summer (08) with their proud parents.
Anthony has revealed his newborn children Max and Emme will join him and his wife when he tours Spain in June (08).
In a press conference with the Spanish media last week, the singer said that "family and (his) laptop" were the only things he couldn't live
without during this tour, which begins on 21 June (08).
And Anthony insists he's more than justified in taking Lopez and their twins on the road with him: "When I perform in Spain... they will inspire
me."
And he won't be making big demands backstage: "I just need toys for the kids."
It must be really weird and awkward for him to watch JFTB... especially when Garner's around..BUT that doesn't change the fact that it's really
lame of him to still complain..
I don't know if anyone else noticed or remember it but when Jen was on Star Academy thing and they showed few old videos of Jen including IGBA..and when
Cris came on..she obviously felt uncomfortable..
Hollywood actor Ben Affleckregrets starring in ex-fiancée Jennifer Lopez 's music video - because it nearly ruined his career.
Affleck, 35, began dating the Latina singer in 2002 and later that year, he made a cameo in her music video Jenny From The Block. In the promo, the actor can
be seen rubbing sun tan lotion onto Lopez's bottom.
In the following years, the couple's high-profile romance proceeded to cross over from the tabloids onto the big screen, culminating in the 2003 box office
flop Gigli.
And the Pearl Harbor star is now convinced bringing his personal life into the spotlight was damaging to his career.
He says, "If I have a big regret, it was doing the music video. But that happened years ago. I've moved on."
But Affleck insists he isn't blaming Lopez for his career nosedive: "It not only makes me look like a petulant fool (to blame Lopez), but it surely
qualifies as ungentlemanly? For the record, did she hurt my career? No."
The pair became engaged in 2002 but called off their relationship in 2003.
The 'Monster-in-Law' star was given the honor by New York's Mingling Moms organization, after giving birth to twins Max and Emme - her first
children with husband Marc Anthony - in February.
The organization decided to reward to 38-year-old Jennifer after it was revealed she had given birth at a hospital in Long Island, New York and is intending to
raise the twins in the local neighborhood.
Lindsay Lohan's mom Dina, who will star alongside her other daughter Ali in a reality TV show to premiere on US TV network E! this summer, was also honored
at last night's 'Mom's Night Out' ceremony (May 5).
Upon accepting the award, Dina - who also works as Lindsay's manager - said she only had one piece of advice to help young starlets stay out of trouble.
She said: "Just to be honest and to stay morally correct. And listen to your mother."
Erica Logiudice, the president of Mingling Moms, said they had created the ceremony to recognize the people who inspired their children and helped them in
their career.
She said: "We thought assembling such a list would be a great tribute to the women who were behind the scenes of these superstars' tremendous
careers."
Other celebrity moms honored in the Long Island's Top 20 Celebrity Moms category included Alec Baldwin's mother Carol, Mariah Carey's mom Patricia
Vian and Eddie Murphy's mother Lillian Robinson.

You guys are so mean to Ben Affleck! Gigli did ruin his career, cause nobody takes him seriously after that movie, and he did have some good movies (Pearl
Harbor, Armaggedon (sp?), Hollywoodland). I think Gigli was just bad for everybody! He probably kept saying it cause people kept asking about his career, and i
guess for him, that is the turning point.
^ we all know that Gigli ruined their career, not only Ben,but also Jen. But there is no point of saying this again and again in every interview. He needs to
move on.
^ i think he's trying to move on career wise, but he probably doesn't have many good scripts comin' his way. At least Jen has other things besides
acting. I feel bad. Anyways.......
"Surprise birthdays are horrid! I remember when Ben and Jen [that's J.Lo to mere mortals] threw me one in Paris. Benny Medina called the night
before I was leaving for New York, on my birthday, and said there was a problem with the photos. I thought, 'Oh great, she was an angel during the shoot
and now she's pulling the diva act.'"
