I honestly feel like, what the hell else does Jennifer have to do to get the recognition she deserves from the industry?? In movies AND music. 2007 is the perfect example to illustrate this. She delievered a STELLAR performance in El Cantante. She blew everyone away. She pushed herself and the results were stunning. And yet come Golden Globes and Oscars, once again she is snubbed. WHY?? And what about CAUM? A phenomenal album that just screams GRAMMY! Yet, come Latin and regular Grammys time, and once again nothing. NOTHING. It just annoys the sh!t outta me becuase Jen works so hard and she doesn't NEED these awards. I mean, shes happy and we are happy and getting new music and movies of the best standard. But it just bugs me becuase Jennifer is one of the most influential, memorable, talented and amazing stars of our generation, who has been working her butt off for decades in both fields of music and movies. Yet she gets totally ignored. Ok, I'm done.

You can't be nominated for Razzie awards last year and Oscars for the other year,you know what i mean? It takes some time. And about CAUM,they just didn't nominate her because she's Jennifer Lopez. If Beyonce released Caum,she'd definetly be nominated for 10 categories.

Bachelor of Jen-ology Posts: 454 02/12/08 1:20 AM i'm not lovin u da way i wanted 2 see i had 2 go see i had 2 move no more wastin time so keep ur love lockdown	agreed bout Oscar!but their vote is based on ALL movies.they look at other movies as well.its not like they watch jen and wait if she has a good or bad performance,u know what i mean?they dont compare it with jens other movies.they compare it with the best movies out there.though id prefer EC anyday and i think she KILLED it but EC was not a real put together movie.the directing did nothing good to it! but she is nominated for 4 Latin awards! hope she wins

I love Cate and I think that Elizabeth movie got bad reviews, on par with EC, I think, and she still got a nom. It's been said millions of times but Jen has a bunch of baggage. People still refer to her as J.Lo. Pop divas can't be taken serious as actresses even though Jen was an actress before.

BB Music Critic	Agreed, her success is both a curse and a blessing, I think she will eventually get her recognition but it won't be until she's much older, and less attractive, once her looks have faded her talent will shine even brighter than what we already see. It took Madonna years and years for the Grammies to acknowledge her, and look Madonna won her 7th Grammy on Sunday. If Jen can stay in the game for years to come, then people will finally wake up and realize that she's here to stay for a reason.

I got the feeling the Latin community where saying "Yeah you are the biggest Hispanic in Hollywood but that doesn't mean we are going to give you awards for your first album, you've got to do more in Spanish music." I think it is a mix of admaration but also a little bit of resentment. CAUM definitely had GRAMMYS written all over it : voice/producers/sound/sales - I will never understand that. With regard to her English music like RuRu said it took Madonna 10 years and now she is a grammy's darling. I also think it has a lot to do with public/ media perception. Intermediate Jen-ology Posts: 234 02/12/08 5:01 PM	It makes me so mad when Jen does not get the regsignatin she deserves. CAUM was the best album in my lifetime, Everything about it was so amazing and deep, it was a huge step for Jen and she took a huge risk but like always Jen pulled it off and delivered an amazing performance. Jennifer In EC did a Great job. The way the movie was directed was not that great. but Jen brought that movie to a whole other leval. Jennifer Did an amazing job in Bordertown and El Cantante. There have been movies and music artist's that have been nominated that are real bad, but if people notice the people that nominate them know each other or are related in a way. Its real bad cause i think most of them are bought and the real music artist and movies get ignored.

Posts: 710 02/12/08 7:16 PM	Well lets be REAL here, the industry is very fickle. Lets face it 2000 onwards most of her career has been safe and mainstream/commercial. Its fine and great for us fans that jen is doing more quality projects, but to expect the industry to instantly flip and give jen recognition is unrealistic and asking a bit too much. I would rather jen have a long spanning career of gradual recognition, that way she has something to strive for- and we get better results. Awards are just a nice byproduct. Why should the industry suddenly recognize Jen for her talents? just because Jen decides she wants recognition for her talent. Its a gradual change and jen is on the right path. Esp since LAOIP is a drama like el cantante.

I can't believe Estefano produced that Thalia's flop album So if they nominated "EL SEXTO SENTIDO" ....why they ignored "CAUM" ??? that was a lot better album, mature, good voice, the london orchestra....why?
